Our Week in Pictures: December 2014

December’s round up of what we’ve been working on at Casalinho, our developing permaculture project in central Portugal.

Those of you who have been following these photo diaries will have noticed that I’ve not been publishing them for a little while. We’ve been taking a short break from hosting volunteers during December, just to catch our breath, spend some time together as a family and work on getting some direction for 2015.

Life here doesn’t stop when there’s no volunteers though, there’s still plenty going on, so here’s a round up of what we’ve been doing during December. We’ve volunteers joining us again shortly, so more action shots coming up soon!

Left to right, top to bottom:

1) Stunning sunset over Fundão.

2) Revisiting the mandala garden created during October’s Convergência de Permacultura.

3) This lovely chap was born at the end of the year, but sadly didn’t survive.

4) Christmas Day, and the dogs object to being out in the cold whilst we eat!

5) Solstice sunset, taken before meeting up with friends for a fire through the night.

6) Snow on the Serra da Estrella.

7) Rats!

8) Goat watching from on high.

9) Ensuring the wood stove does double duty by baking bread.

If you’d like to join us in 2015, we’d welcome hearing from you.
