Introduction to Permaculture

This five day introduction to the world of permaculture kicks off with two classroom based days where we’ll learn about the ethics and principles of permaculture, together with some basic design skills. We’ll follow these up with three more practical days where we will practice some of the design skills we’ve discussed, and demonstrate some of the practical techniques you may wish to incorporate into your own project.

The site is a family run smallholding built on permaculture principles, established around 8 years but still very much a work in progress. You will be given a full tour of the project where we will be happy to discuss what we’ve done, what we’re planning next, and what we’d have done differently.  Practical sessions will focus on techniques for managing water in the landscape and building healthy soils.

This course will be guided by Rosie Stonehill, who first started teaching permaculture at Casalinho in 2012, and your site hosts, Andrea and Jeroen.
